Rose amogst thorns sting the opposition

VEREENIGING. – Round 5 of the King Price F400 Karting Championship 2018 held at the Laserfiche Raceway saw ultra-competitive racing with a lap time difference of only a tenth of a second between the top karts.
Local karter from Vaalpark, Valmarie Volschenk with her team mates PhillipViljoen and Ernie van der Walt (Team Pirtek) scored a credible 3rd place out of 19 karts in only their second race for 2018 in this class.
The racing consists of three heats, two of 75 minutes and one 2 hour heat.
The karters had to make pit stops to change drivers. Bevan Williams of Race Art Williams) supplied and assisted with the setup and maintenance of the kart.
Valmarie is only 15 years old and is competing against mostly adult male competitors.
The next race will be on July 29 at the Zwartkops Raceway and then on 26 August at Laserfische in Vereeniging.
