Vanderbijlpark SAPS is investigating a business robbery case that took place this morning at 06:00.  It is alleged that early this morning when the store was about to open five (5) armed suspects ran towards the shop forced the employees in the alley of the trolleys, locked the security guard in the guard room and broke open the glass door with a puk entered the shop and took a lot of cigarettes and cell phones.  Suspects fled with a Ford Focus and a white bakkie.   Value of stolen items is unknown.

One employee was assaulted with a fist for not co-operating, one suspect was arrested by Chubb security and an employee of PNP.  Suspect was handed over to the police who were responding to the business robbery.

Brig. Nikiwe Hoaeane will like to applaud the security company for working hand in hand with the police ensuring that there was an arrest as we have been experiencing a lot of business robberies at night.  Although this one was one of a kind in the morning, she hopes it will send a message to the criminals who were intending to take over Vanderbijlpark.  Brig. Hoaeane says her new special team she has established will make sure Vanderbijlpark is safe, with the trust and help of the uniform members, detectives and the security companies. Statement issued by: SAPS Vanderbijlpark, Corporate Communication: Sedibeng Cluster – Enquiries: Sgt. Gertrude Makhale.
