Two girls critically injured in scooter crash

VANDERBIJLPARK. – On Saturday afternoon March 18 at 16:30 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision along Wenning Street Vanderbijlpark. Reports from the scene indicate that a scooter and a car collided head-on, although exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events is still speculative and will form part of the police investigation.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the driver of the bike a seventeen-year-old female sustained life threatening injuries, her passenger a girl around the same age was also critically injured. The driver of the car escaped uninjured.

Paramedics stabilised the patient at the scene, the driver of the bike was airlifted with the Netcare medical helicopter to a specialised hospital for treatment.
